Faith Church of the Valley

John Salvatore
Pastor John Salvatore is the senior pastor at Faith Church, overseeing all church ministries. His burning desire is to see God's kingdom advanced both at home and abroad. Nothing excites John more than seeing people's lives changed as they are challenged to be full disciples of Christ, complete in God with a passion for holiness and the desire to grow and minister to others worldwide.

Originally from New York City, John moved with his family to the Valley of the Sun while in junior high school. He comes from a strong family identity; a very traditional and loving American home. While attending bible college at Arizona College of the Bible he met and eventually married Sharon who was working on her Christian Education degree. They have three daughters: Hanna, Janelle, and Rachel.

Pastor John Salvatore John received his Bachelors degree in Bible and Theology from Arizona College of the Bible, then studied for one year through Fuller Theological Seminary by extension at Grand Canyon University. He later was awarded a masters degree in Family and Child Therapy from the University of Phoenix.

Right out of college John found himself directed toward the ministry. He became an intern with a local church youth group before eventually joining Faith Church as Pastor of Youth. John's heart for 'life' led him later to take a sabbatical from Faith and found Arizona Project Rescue, a local pro-life Christian ministry. As an extension of this ministry the Preborn Child Protection Amendment, a statewide ballot initiative to end abortion in Arizona, was launched. John returned to ministry at Faith Church in 1992 as one of the head pastors.

During John's rare free time you may find him rooting for his hometown teams the Phoenix Suns, Arizona Diamondbacks, and yes, even the Arizona Cardinals. And his childhood memories in the Bronx and Long Island still make him a diehard Yankees fan. John also enjoys reading non-fiction books of theology and other Christian literature.

A word of warning to anyone new to the area and in need of directions: don't ask John to show you the way. He is notorious for having a poor sense of direction, even though he defends such claims by promising he can always find his way to his office, car, and home... really the most important destinations anyway.
